La Brigantine par Dodo à Cassis

The villa is large and spacious. Lots of room and multiple places to sit and relax. It was good to be able to have a swim in the pool when we arrived. Beautiful views from the terrace.

This is a quirky property we booked last minute and without seeing photos. The check in process is very poor. First, we were not given the correct address for the property (it is in a gated community) which meant we were dropped off at the wrong address and had to find a taxi to take us up the hill to property. Then the concierge messaged to say she couldn’t stay at the property to greet us as it was too hot! When we did arrive, she was vague about the whereabouts of the pool (to be clear - it’s not a private pool, it’s a shared pool within the community grounds about 200m from the property). There were no instructions left for wifi etc or anything else. Note the check out process requires you to drive to another property in a different part of Cassis to drop the keys off. Nothing is guest friendly about the checkin/out process. When I messaged her twice on WhatsApp I could see she hadn’t even opened the message so not sure what we would have done had we had a major problem. The property itself is very tired - and while we didn’t mind the decor there were electric power cords trailing in numerous places and a light switch hanging off the wall. So kids be careful. Also only one fan provided which was in full use as it was very hot during our stay. Overall this property is rundown but fine if you’re not particular about aesthetics. It is located quite a walk up the hill from the waterfront but completely doable. There are Lime bikes located just outside the main gate to the community which is super convenient.
