Plantestua-Alstahaug Planteskole

We spent one night here and it was the highlight of our trip. The property is a beautifully remodeled old building turned into a small hotel of just 7–8 rooms, with a large common room featuring a fireplace and a separate, well-equipped kitchen. Our room was cosy with very comfortable beds, and the host was a wonderfully friendly lady - we ended up having a lovely chat with her. But the real gem is the setting: the Skelia nature reserve sits right beneath the towering wall of the Seven Sisters mountain range. With its century-old trees and sense of ancient history, it genuinely feels like a place out of a Tolkien novel. Absolutely magical. A couple of honest notes: we had the whole place to ourselves, which made it perfect - but with more guests it could feel a bit crowded, given the age of the building and the squeaky doors (though honestly, that's also part of the charm). You'll want a car to explore the area, but there's a bus stop right next to the property, so it's reachable without one too. And there is plenty to see in the surrounding area if you prefer hiking. Highly recommended if you're looking for atmosphere and peace rather than a standard hotel experience.

It might have been just the best stay I ever had. The place is calm, a bit remote, at the step of Seven Sisters mountain range. The house is warm, comfortable, made in wood which makes it cozy and exceptional. Given the Norwegian prices, this stay was by far the best value for money. I really enjoyed my stay! It had a feel of being at home, not a hotel or some place where you have a transactional stay.

Hardly anything to note. Everything was good, I had no negative notes.
