The apartment sits in a quietly central part of Turku, close to Port Arthur — or Portsa, as locals call it. Portsa is one of the city’s most loved residential neighbourhoods, known for its old wooden houses, narrow cobblestone streets, relaxed local atmosphere, and distinctive historic character. From Sofiankatu, guests get a practical city base with cafés, services, transport, the riverside, Kakola, and the centre within easy reach, while the surrounding area still feels calm, residential, and settled.
Walking and cycling are the easiest ways around the city centre; most attractions are within 10–20 minutes on foot. Local public transport is run by Föli (bus network and trunk lines) with frequent services linking the city centre to suburbs. Main options: city buses (use Föli app or ticket machines), rentable city bikes in season, local taxis and rideshare services. Turku Central Railway Station and the Market Square bus hubs are a short walk from Sofiankatu, providing regional bus and train connections.
A few storage and work area details are still being finalised. They do not affect the comfort or normal use of the apartment, and guests will have everything needed for a calm and practical stay.
