Bed and Breakfast in San Marco

About this bed and breakfast
Located in the heart of Venice, the house overlooks the Gran Canal,
near Campo S. Stefano, Accademia, and S. Marco Square. It's 140 square metres, with 5 windows on the Gran Canal. You'll have the privilege of living in an historical building, the foundation of which dates back to 1400. Francesco Sforza, the duke of Milan, started the construction of the palace because he wanted to have a base in Venice for his political influence. The project was stopped by the Republic, frightened by the power of the duke, but the building was eventually finished in 1500. The basement and a column made by the architect Filarete still exist from the original project. In 1500 the painter Tiziano Vecellio had his studio in the apartment, and in 1600 the spanish plotted the conspirancy against the republic of Venice from here.
