About this house rental
Casa del Sol sits directly on the water on the southern coast of the Dominican Republic, fifteen minutes from La Romana International Airport (LRM). The pavilion holds the dining room, the kitchen, and the bar; the five suites sit behind it, each with its own terrace and oriented to the trade winds. The infinity pool runs the length of the lawn to the sea, with a jacuzzi on one side and a shaded table on the other. Below the palapas, a lower level holds a gym, a hammam, and a massage room.
Where you sleep. Five ensuite suites sleep up to ten. Egyptian-cotton linens, air conditioning throughout, and a private terrace off each room. Rent the whole house, or only the suites you need.
The bathrooms. Each suite has its own — no shared bathrooms anywhere in the house. Two are full baths with both a soaking tub and a separate walk-in shower, twin basins, toilet and bidet. Two have a generous walk-in shower with twin basins, toilet and bidet. One is built around a soaking tub with a twin-basin vanity. Every bathroom has a double vanity.
The setting. The villa sits on the 17th hole of Teeth of the Dog — Pete Dye's celebrated seaside masterwork, consistently ranked the finest course in the Caribbean, where seven of eighteen holes run along the sea. You're inside the gates of Casa de Campo, the resort near La Romana — a golf-cart ride from Minitas Beach and its beach club, the Mediterranean-style marina, and two more Pete Dye courses. Altos de Chavón, a 16th-century village above the Chavón river, is ten minutes away; Saona and Catalina islands are a boat trip out.
The stay. Every stay includes daily housekeeping, gardening and pool service, 24-hour security, WiFi, electricity and water. A fully equipped kitchen, a wine cellar, and a Sonos sound system throughout. A private chef, in-villa spa, golf tee times, and airport transfers are arranged on request.
