House in Big Sky, MT

About this house rental
There's a creek that runs through this property. That alone should tell you something.
Dudley Creek cuts right across 20 acres of private Montana wilderness. Once you're here, a mile and a half from the highway, trees in every direction, a cliff face rising up behind you, it's hard to believe the rest of the world exists. That feeling doesn't really go away the whole trip. The cabin sleeps 10, with 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, so there's actual room for a big group.
The kitchen can handle it too. Gas range, stainless appliances, real counter space. Someone always ends up cooking a big breakfast, eggs, bacon, the whole thing, and this is the kind of kitchen where that actually sounds fun instead of stressful.
But honestly, most of the trip happens on the deck. There's a hot tub out there with a view overlooking the river, and up into the mountains, with string lights overhead. Enjoy the offset smoker that a few people in your group are definitely going to take way too seriously. Fire it up in the afternoon. Get in the hot tub when the sun goes down. Stay out later than you planned. That's just what happens here.
When you want to get out, Big Sky is ten minutes away, good food, good drinks, easy nights out. The ski resort is right there too if that's your thing. And Yellowstone is only forty minutes south, which still feels almost too convenient. Bison, geysers, hot springs, do it as a day trip and the kids will talk about it for the rest of the summer.
It's a rare place. Quiet enough to actually disconnect, close enough that you're not sacrificing anything. That combination is harder to find than you'd think.
Guest Access: Guests have full access to the home and property, with the exception of the basement, which serves as a private residence for the on-site groundskeeper.
Winter
Big Sky Resort is the biggest skiing in America, and it earns that title every single year. With 5,800 skiable acres, 4,350 feet of vertical drop, and an average of 400+ inches of snowfall annually, it delivers for every level of skier and rider. When you are ready to step off the slopes, the historic Lone Mountain Ranch has 85+ kilometers of groomed Nordic trails through the wilderness, voted the #1 cross-country ski resort in North America. Beyond that, Yellowstone National Park, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, dog sledding, ice fishing, and world-class spa experiences are all within easy reach.
Summer
The mountains do not slow down when the snow melts. Within minutes you have world-class fly fishing, river rafting, golf, hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, and zip-lining at your doorstep. Follow the scenic Gallatin River along historic Highway 191 and you are at the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park in just 45 minutes. Stay long enough and you will find free concerts, farmers markets, and weekly events scattered throughout the season.
