Olive Hotel Gurugram Sector 57 by Embassy group

The Hotel gives an impressive experience by their elegant ambience & luxurious vibe. They've pretty good rooms, cozy beds, well maintained washroom & an amazing area around the reception where you'll find an Irani or Afghani Couple sitting all the time! All this review based on the price for which I booked the property & also comparing with the hotels you can find nearby that location for which Olive Hotels stands a class above them for sure! The only thing which went odd was that they ask everyone to wait at the reception for 5 mins just to check everything is fine in the room. Which is somewhat fine but I mean who does that!

I recently stayed at Olive Hotel with my family, booking two rooms for four adults. Unfortunately, the overall check-in experience was extremely disappointing. I reached the property at around 11:30 PM, but the main gate was locked and there was nobody available at the reception. I had to knock for around five minutes before someone finally came to open the gate. I was then informed that he was the only person handling the property at that time and had been upstairs. After entering, I was told that although my booking had been accepted, the property had apparently overbooked/accepted another booking without updating their system. One of the rooms was available, while the second room was still untidy and needed to be prepared. I was asked to wait while the room was cleaned and made ready. What should have been a straightforward late-night check-in ended up taking approximately 45 minutes to an hour. After travelling with family and reaching the hotel at 11:30 PM, having to wait at reception until around midnight just to get the rooms ready was extremely inconvenient. I understand that hotels may need to manage room inventory based on early check-outs and maximize occupancy. However, accepting bookings without ensuring that the rooms are actually ready and having only limited staff available to manage the property is an operational issue that should not be passed on to the guest. The staff themselves mentioned that they were relatively new and were still figuring out how to manage the property. While I appreciate their honesty, this is something the hotel management should address. On the positive side, the property itself appears to be newly built. The room was neat and tidy once it was finally provided, and the AC, fans, switches and other basic amenities were functioning properly. Since my stay was very short, I cannot comment much beyond that. However, a good room alone is not enough if the basic check-in experience is this difficult. If the operational issues continue in the same manner, I would definitely think twice before booking this property again. I hope the management takes this feedback constructively and improves its staffing, room readiness and booking/inventory management, because the property itself has potential.
