Blue Gables sits on a quiet residential block in College Place, a small city adjacent to Walla Walla that is home to Walla Walla University and a short drive from outdoor recreation, golf, and the valley's best restaurants. The house was built in the mid-1920s and fully renovated, keeping the craftsman trim, peaked gables, and wide plank flooring while delivering a kitchen, bathrooms, and fixtures that feel completely new. It is the rare historic house where nothing needs a workaround.
LIVING ROOM
The main floor living room is the kind of room a large group actually wants to spend time in. A decorative (not functional) craftsman fireplace with a tile surround and built-in shelving flanking both sides anchors the space. Wide plank floors, a woven area rug, a leather sofa, accent chairs, and a globe chandelier overhead. The Roku smart TV is ready when the day is done. The room opens directly into the dining room, keeping the whole main floor connected and easy for groups.
KITCHEN
Fully rebuilt with white shaker cabinets, formica countertops, and stainless steel appliances: full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, electric range, and over-the-range microwave. The teal range is the room's standout piece of personality. Counter space is generous enough for real meal prep, and the kitchen door opens straight to the backyard for indoor-outdoor flow. Both a drip coffee maker and a Keurig are available.
DINING ROOM
An oval white dining table seats six under a brass chandelier set over a scalloped jute rug. The sight line into the kitchen keeps the cook in the conversation. The living room handles overflow seating for larger groups with ease.
BEDROOMS
Bedroom 1: Downstairs King Suite. The main floor primary suite is the most accessible and private bedroom in the house. King bed, private en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower, formica vanity, gold arched mirror, and a Roku smart TV. The right room for guests who prefer to avoid stairs or for the couple in the group who wants separation from the rest of the house.
Bedroom 2: Upstairs King. Slanted craftsman ceiling, hardwood floors, brass hardware, and a natural woven area rug. Quiet and removed from the main floor activity.
Bedroom 3: Upstairs King. Same finish and character as Bedroom 2. White bed frame, paired nightstands with globe lamps, windows on the quiet side of the house.
Bedroom 4: The Twin Loft. Three twin beds under a slanted ceiling with multiple windows and a boldly patterned woven rug. Kids claim this room immediately. It also works as flexible overflow for groups who need the extra beds.
BATHROOMS
All three bathrooms were renovated with matching design: white shaker vanities, formica countertops, gold hardware, and gold-framed ornate arched mirrors throughout. The en-suite downstairs has a walk-in shower with a built-in seat. The second downstairs bathroom also has a walk-in shower with a bench. The upstairs bathroom has a shower and tub combo. All three are fully stocked for your arrival.
BACKYARD
Fully fenced with overhead string lights, outdoor seating, and open lawn space for cornhole and lawn games. Large enough to hold the whole group comfortably in the evening, small enough to feel warm and gathered rather than scattered. Pets are welcome and the fenced yard makes supervision easy.
LAUNDRY
Full-size top-loading washer and dryer on the upper floor in a dedicated laundry area, convenient for multi-night stays.
