About this house rental
This charming, classic log cabin with small windows is hidden between the forests and snow-capped mountains of Sjusjøen. It's just a short drive from Lillehammer, where you can go on adventures to one of the country's best cross-country skiing areas, when you're not enjoying the peace and quiet of the cabin. After both hiking and skiing, the sauna is a luxury for tired muscles.
The cabin is bright and friendly with wooden walls and large windows in the open-plan kitchen/living room, which at times offers an almost magical view of the mountain landscape. The kitchen is well-equipped and invites you to indulge in gastronomic delights, and you can enjoy your meals together around the large long table. Up in the loft, you'll find a lovely daybed that forms the setting for both Friday movies and den building for the family's little ones.
From the living room there is an open connection to the terrace, where you can enjoy the warming rays of the sun in both summer and winter as you sit down for a quiet moment with your morning coffee. Relax in the cabin's sauna or enjoy the dancing flames on the slate-covered patio by the fire pit with something hot in your cup. If you're lucky, you might even see the Northern Lights dancing in the sky on starry winter nights.
Here, in the heart of Sjusjøen, is the perfect place to stay if you enjoy both mountain hikes and skiing trips suitable for the whole family. With a wide variety of trails, there's something for everyone and the nearest nature experience is never far away. In the summer you can swim in Sjusjøvannet and in the winter there are open holes in the ice on Mesnavannet for winter swimmers. If you miss city life, Lillehammer is only 20 minutes away by car.

The house was very nice and spacious, in a beautiful, quiet location, very close to a cross-country ski trail, and with a lovely view. The amenities were excellent. We didn’t lack for anything.
We felt right at home and enjoyed our time there. Communicating with Cecilie was easy, and she always responded quickly to our questions. Just be aware that the cabin is for private use, so there’s no place to store your own belongings (clothes or kitchen items) in the cabinets. Thank you so much for the cabin.
