About this house rental
The heart of the property is the old two-story Southern Norwegian house. It has that cozy, nostalgic soul that only old houses possess. The house features paneled walls and painted wooden floors, small charming rooms—each with its own wood-burning stove—and an outhouse. Down by the fjord lies the small log cabin. It has a tranquility all its own with peaceful views, and is perfect for evenings spent stoking the stove. Together with the old barn, the buildings form a traditional farmstead.
Surrounding the house is a large terrace with a dining table and lounge chairs. The garden is a large, open lawn with lilac bushes and birch trees. It’s perfect for running barefoot, lazy days on the lounge chair, and long, bright summer evenings. The lawn extends all the way to the water’s edge. From here, you step right out onto the private dock. A perfect way to start the day is to sit at the very edge of the dock with a cup of coffee.
The water here is often perfectly still and known for being a fantastic fishing spot. Kayaks and rowboats are also available, so you can easily row out to try your luck at fishing or take a peaceful paddle on the fjord. About a kilometer further down the main road is a lovely swimming spot with a diving board and a sandy beach. Tvedestrand and Risør are about 40 minutes away.
