About this house rental
Canvases, paints, spices, and inspiration aplenty!
This is an eccentric and whimsical old house with all of the charm and quirks of a historical home. Be forewarned that this is not your typical modern beach style rental, and has a unique vibe all its own. This home was built in 1918 and is in the process of getting a historical designation, so a stay here would be a memorable but not typical experience.
The main floor features two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed, and two baths. There is also an art studio/bedroom upstairs that is accessible by the indoor spiral staircase and the outdoor staircase and balcony. (Please see the floorplan in the photos section.) The home boasts a large chefs kitchen with a porcelain sink, commercial faucet, butcher block and marble counter tops, gas range, washer and dryer, and a two top bistro table, as well as all of the equipment you could want or need to throw down a Michelin star meal if you are so inclined!
The living room offers comfortable seating for you to kick back and relax, along with a smart TV to catch your favorite shows, and an electric fireplace. The dining room has an eight top antique dining table with a leaf and a china cabinet filled with options for a beautiful table setting. Holiday dinners in this room are gorgeous and over the top!
The upstairs bedroom is an art studio with 10 windows and ethereal light, a queen size bed and a modular sofa that turns into two twin beds. There are canvases, paints, colored pencils, two easels and some paint by numbers sets for the aspiring artist, all at the guests disposal. Make some art and memories and take your masterpiece with you, or leave it to be completed and hung for future artists to marvel at.
The front and back porches are perfect for sipping coffee in the morning or a cocktail at night and the fully fenced back yard is great for pets. There are Adirondacks and a fire pit and a small gas grill for your enjoyment.
SPECIAL NOTES: While we welcome families and pets, the home has many antiques and breakables, so please treat them with respect and care. Please supervise children on the spiral staircase, balcony and with the art supplies upstairs. The home has central AC and heat, and the back “Speakeasy” room and the upstairs loft bedroom have supplemental window units for your comfort. If you are not using those rooms, please leave the units off to help us conserve energy.
