About this house rental

Relax and unwind in my 17th Century cottage located in a quiet village in north Oxfordshire.

There's ample room for 5 guests with 3 bedrooms, spacious lounge with inglenook fireplace, 1.5 bathrooms and open-plan kitchen-diner.

Conveniently located 2 miles from Banbury/M40, 15 miles to Blenheim Palace, 30 miles to Oxford & Stratford-upon-Avon and perfect for exploring The Cotswolds.

With countryside walks and 2 pubs on the doorstep, it's the perfect retreat for friends, families or colleagues.

The cottage built in 1650 is full of character and packed with original Grade II listed features. You may find some uneven floorboards downstairs which are part of the cottage's charm but may not be suitable for everyone.

Living area:
Step inside through the rear porch door into the spacious living room featuring the original inglenook fireplace, Smart TV (own streaming subscriptions required), a range of comfy seating and throws for those cosy nights in after a day exploring the area. Nest smart heating also runs throughout the property to keep you nice & warm during your stay.

Cooking/dining:
The bright fully equipped kitchen-diner is complete with oven/induction hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster & filter coffee machine (please bring your own ground coffee). The dining area comfortably seats 5 guests overlooking the pretty street in front, which also makes a great spot for home office working.

Sleeping:
Bedroom 1: packed with original features, double bed with some storage and hanging space
Bedroom 2: bright single bedroom overlooking the front with large chest of drawers
Bedroom 3: double bed with original fireplace and front outlook with some storage/hanging space
Bathroom: brand new modern bathroom with bath and separate shower enclosure, sink & WC

Outside space:
Private enclosed courtyard at the rear with outdoor dining for 4.

Private parking on the driveway behind the property for one vehicle with extra ample free parking on the street in front of the cottage.

Guests have full exclusive access to my semi-detached cottage and outdoor area as described.

There is an upper floor which is locked for my personal use.

There is also a basement next to the rear porch door which is also locked.

My home is in a quiet close knit neighbourhood, so strictly no parties allowed please. Quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am.

Standard check-in time is from 4pm onwards and check-out time is by 10am. We may be able to offer a later check-out or earlier check-in for an extra cost via prior arrangement only.

Strictly no smoking or vaping indoors please.

As with many older cottages, the occasional cobweb can appear despite our best efforts to clear them. If you do happen to spot any, please just let us know - we’ll keep working hard to ensure the cottage is always clean and welcoming for our guests.

A small starter pack of logs and kindling are provided from October-March. If you wish to use the log fire often or outside these times, we suggest purchasing more for your stay.

We can supply a travel cot & high chair for an additional cost of £25 per stay, please kindly request these at the time of booking. Please bring your own bedding for the travel cot.

Linen, towels & toiletries are provided along with a welcome pack including tea/coffee/sugar/milk sachets and snacks.

IMPORTANT: On behalf of our host at Pass the Keys, we require guest verification facilitated by Truvi (Previously called Superhog). Upon confirming your booking, Truvi will contact the lead booker via a secure link, providing detailed instructions for the verification process.

The online verification requires a government-issued photo ID and a credit or debit card. During this process, you may choose between a refundable GBP 500 deposit (plus GBP 10 transaction fee currency equivalent) or purchase a non-refundable damage waiver of GBP 40 (currency equivalent) to cover potential damages during your stay.

Once the verification process is successfully completed, check-in information will be provided. If you opted in for a deposit, this will be refunded via credit/debit card after your stay, subject to an inspection of the property.
