About this house rental
The cabin is situated on over 200 acres and surrounded by Flathead National Forest, 0.5 miles up a gravel road on a bench above the small community of Poleebridge. Although remote, the cabin has everything you needed for a comfortable stay. Lots of light, views into both Glacier National Park and the Whitefish Mountain Range to the West. Hiking trails from the property and amazing views from the bench lookouts ( great for evening sunsets). The cabin is only about 1 mile from Polebridge which has a Mercantile and Saloon with plenty of live music in the summer months. Kayaks, ebikes and Sup can be rented from the Mercantile. About 6 miles away is Home Ranch Bottoms popular among the locals also with lots of live music. The North Fork Entrance to the Park is only about 2.5 miles away and Apgar and the Going to the Sun Road is about 40 beautiful minutes away. Columbia Falls is the closest place for groceries and gas etc and it is about 36 miles away on a mostly gravel road.
The cabin itself has a master bedroom (King bed) up stairs with a walk through bedroom with a day bed and trundle bed and bathroom and a huge porch with epic views. Downstairs is a bedroom (queen bed) and a fold out small bed, a second bathroom, a kitchen, a large dining room table and sitting area with another large deck to admire the views. About 30 yards away is a sleep cabin with a king or 2 twin beds and a bunk beds, a european woodstove, (no bathroom). These along with the 2 glamping tents surround a huge firepit with lots of fire wood. There is a gazebo with screens and large table. There is access to the garage which has the barbeque, some lawn toys and inflatable kayaks and a second refrigerator. In addition there is an outhouse, hot outdoor shower and washbasin. On site is Jim's observatory and he loves to show off the incrdibl dark skies with his various telescopes just ask.
The cabin is stocked with lots of guide books and maps and we are always available to help with trip planning and local advice.
The Park is exceptional but we are surrounded by the Flathead National Forest with its mountain lakes, lookout towers and seldom used trails where dogs can go unleashed. In addition the North Fork of Flathead flows through the valley great for picnics, swimming, kayaking, rafting, and fishing.
