About this house rental
Access is via an unpaved road that is now used only by the neighbors, who live 500 m away.
You can enjoy your stay far from traffic noise and completely undisturbed, as the 150-year-old farmhouse is entirely at your disposal for the duration of your stay.
The first floor, which is wheelchair accessible, features a hallway, a living room with a separate reading area, a kitchen-diner with access to the terrace and the 1,000 m² garden, a bathroom, a separate toilet, a large bedroom with a double bed, and a small bedroom with a French bed.
On the first floor, there is a second large bedroom with a double bed, a crib, and a work area, as well as a small bedroom with two single beds.
All bedrooms are suitable for people with allergies and feature hardwood floors.
For younger guests, there is a sandbox and a play structure with two swings at the back of the garden.
You can see the masts of the boats in the marina from the window behind the dike.
The old harbor and downtown area of the coastal town of Hooksiel—with shopping and the saltwater indoor pool—are 1.5 km away along the dike.
The sandy beach of Hooksiel in the Wadden Sea National Park is just a few kilometers away on foot or by bike through the forest behind the dike.
Right on Hooks Meer, there is a surfing and kiteboarding school and a water-skiing facility.
You can take day trips to the town of Jever, with its old castle and historic district, and to Wilhelmshaven, where you can take a harbor tour and catch a ferry to Heligoland and Butjadingen.
Since the Bohnenburg Dike is still administratively part of Wilhelmshaven, no visitor’s tax is charged here.
