About this apartment rental
It’s a special place thanks to its details; it stands out for its simplicity and harmony with nature. The rock in the middle is a unique feature. It features a Talavera-tiled kitchenette that adds a touch of Mexican character. From the window, you can see the jungle, and at night, the waves of the sea lull you to sleep.
We’re also close to shops, and there are several hiking trails nearby.
Accommodations
We have two studios for rent, side by side on the first floor of our house, with private access. We live on the two floors above most of the time.
Another thing about our family is that we’re organic coffee producers in the San Juan mountains near Tepic. We run a family business—a small operation where we process the coffee from bean to finished product, packaging it for sale in 500g and 250g bags. You’ll find complimentary coffee in the kitchenette, and if you like it, we have some for sale right there. We hope you have wonderful mornings with us.
Guest Access
We’re the first house in town. When you arrive, the first place you’ll enter is the garage, which is one level below the studios. From there, there are two staircases; you can go up to the terrace of each studio separately. Each unit has its own entrance door.
Other highlights
Chacala is a charming and multifaceted place. Its main attraction is its beach, which stretches for about 800 meters. Our beach lies at the foot of an inactive volcano that you can hike up while enjoying spectacular views; much of the trail runs through the jungle. There are also hikes to other beaches; these are longer but also offer an unforgettable experience in the jungle. Some groups visit Chacala for its natural beauty and diverse plant and animal species.
Despite being a small town, it hosts several festivals each year, most of which are organized by the locals. These include the film festival in early December, the bird festival at the start of the year, and the music and arts festival in the spring. From time to time, an event is organized for the Day of the Dead, one of Mexico’s most magical and authentic traditions.
Every Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Tapas Bar, there’s a small ArteSana market featuring handmade, organic, and regional products.
So Chacala is a small town with lots to offer. We especially love welcoming nature lovers.
