About this house rental
This memorable and elegant beachfront house with amazing sea view and beautiful garden is the perfect home base for your trip to Andros. Step inside to a cool, charming space where comfort meets style. Whether you’re unwinding after a day of exploring or gathering for a meal, this beautiful house welcomes you with open arms. Enjoy all that Andros has to offer when you stay at our place.
The 135 m² lovely architect's house is situated just above a tranquil beach in an 1 acre plot between the port of Gavrio and the beautiful, vibrant village of Batsi. The house is surrounded by a green oasis of olive, eucalypt and fig trees, flowers and shrubs. A path offers the possibility to discover the plot and different spots that offer the opportunity to relax privately and enjoy the view from different angles.
There are 3 large verandas -2 of which are sheltered to enjoy at any weather- with breathtaking panoramic views of nearby islands of Kea and Kythnos , that you will be hard pressed to leave to walk to the beautiful beach of St Kyprianos, which is only 5-7 minutes walking distance.
The house has 4 bedrooms. Two of them have double queen size beds equipped with new comfortable high end mattresses and the third one has 2 single beds. On the upper floor one can relax in either of the 2 bedrooms and listen to the sea. There is also another sleeping-relaxing area in the ground floor that sleeps 2 more people- usually children like to stay there.
Decoration in the rooms shows the personal touch of the architect-owner. Wooden seilings, plain wooden furniture, stone floors, lights from the architect's collection "spinning tops". The natural colors of these materials make the color palette indoors as well as outdoors.
The 2 full bathrooms are cement coated which gives the feeling of natural stone.
There is also an open kitchen on the main floor fully furnished with all necessary amenities, espresso and filter coffee machine. The comfortable living room next to that is tastefully decorated.
All spaces, indoors and outdoors, are designed by the architect to establish a relaxing feeling of being at home.
There are a/c in the three bed rooms and a bbq in the entrance veranda.
A large water tank guarantees water supply which sometimes is a problem on greek islands.
There are many more beautiful beaches all within 5-30 minute drive as well as the picturesque village of Batsi which is easily reached by car in 5 minutes.
There is free wi-fi available.
Price includes cleaning, towels and linen changing once a week. More frequent cleaning service is available upon request. The charge is 60€.
Heating costs are not included in the price.
Andros -the greenest of the cycladic islands - can be easily reached by ferry from Rafina port ( 30 minutes from Athens International airport) within 2 hours.
The house is just 4 km (7 minutes drive) from the port of Gavrio in close proximity of numerous beaches as well as the picturesque traditional village of Batsi with its nice cafes, bars and restaurants.
The house location is ideal for water sports lovers. There is an excellent water sports center (We surf in) in walking distance at Kypri beach. They offer wind sport and waterski lessons as well as banana boat rides.
The island offers walkers and hikers a multitude of 18 paths through quintessential eastern mediterranean landscapes with wild flowers, watermills, old farm houses, byzantine churches and monasteries.
The island offers many tavernas and restaurants serving local specialties, bars and outdoor cinemas.
Chora, the island's capital, offers great architecture, a fine contemporary art museum, a nautical museum and an archeological museum as well as an open theatre to host the Andros festival every summer.
There are plenty of splendid beaches both organized and pristine which are among Greece's finest

We stayed with a group of friends for 11 nights and had an amazing time on Andros. We loved the house with all the different levels and terraces from which you have an amazing view on the ocean. We had a windy week on Andros but there is always a terrace that works well for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The house is full of light but still very cozy. The beach is only a 5 minutes walk. The housekeeper did the Check-in with us which was very uncomplicated. In the middle of our stay, the sheets and towels were changed and the house was super clean in the beginning. We can highly recommend and would definitely book this house again when coming back to Andros.

Well appointed house with spectacular sea views. Lots of outdoor patio and eating space. Short walk down to the beach. Restaurant below can be noisy until late if they are hosting a wedding or function. Sunsets are amazing. Stavros met us on arrival and was contactable and helpful throughout.

The villa is a beautiful place to stay. We came with two families, (four adults and three kids) and easily fitted into the three bedrooms. Two of the three bedrooms are air-conditioned.
The house is tastefully furnished and very well maintained. It was cleaned once during our two week stay and the bedding was changed at the same time. You have amazing views over the sea from the terrace and the two balconies.
To get to the beach you just cross the road (be careful with smaller kids, they must be accompanied) and then follow a small path down to the bay that has crystal clear water and was ideal for snorkeling.
Hiring a car is highly recommendable to explore the island and get to the more remote but beautiful beaches. Just make sure not to rent your car at Apollo Rental Cars in Gavrio which proved to be the only negative thing we experienced on the island.
Mari, the owner of the villa, was always available when we had a question and gave us a lot of great tips on places, restaurants and activities.
Our overall impression was that Andros has less tourism than the neighboring islands. We spent the last two weeks of July on Andros and didn't´find it too hot. On some days it was very windy but the beaches between Gavrio and Batsi are protected from the strong winds that are not unusual in the summer months.
All in all we would highly recommend the place and the island if you are not looking for a party location but a peaceful retreat.

the house was quiet, clean and very comfortable. three bedrooms allow for excellent privacy and sleep arrangements. the garden, sea view and short walk to the rocky beach below gave the whole villa the feel of a fairy tale.
