About this house rental
Quality over quantity are the key words here. Furniture and design are carefully selected to fit into the unique architecture of the house. Nothing is random and everything has a personal touch - from the ceramics in the kitchen cabinet to the art on the walls. Inside and out - and in both the main house and the guest house - you can live life simply, with time and space to enjoy that time is your own. Meals can be enjoyed at the kitchen's terrazzo table, outdoors on the wide wooden terrace or the small stone terrace behind the house, nights are spent up under the roof looking out into the heart of the house - and the rest of the time the garden, the family hammock under the apple tree and the island's many cozy activities beckon.
Outside, you'll find a dense woodland filled with blackberry bushes, nut bushes and larch trees; a small piece of untamed garden that invites both exploration and relaxation. Sit on the terrace, bench or around the fire pit and enjoy a glass of wine while letting your shoulders relax. When you're not enjoying the undisturbed drifting life here or in the house, you can explore Orø and its cozy eateries, pick up fresh fish in the harbor or buy local pottery and crafts.
Even though you're just an hour from Copenhagen, nature is always close by, and when there are no deer, pheasants or squirrels visiting the cottage grounds, there are plenty of opportunities for excursions and experiences in the area. There's a child-friendly beach with a blue flag, a jetty in the harbor for your morning dip, renowned hiking trails and the opportunity to take a trip in a rented sea kayak.
The house has been featured in the British interior design magazine ELLE Decoration Country in 2016, where it was highlighted as one of Northern Europe's well-appointed getaways.
