About this apartment rental
Aloha Sanctuary was newly constructed in 2019. It's a simple yet beautiful & comfortable place to relax and rejuvenate. Nestled into the trees, enjoy visits from many birds, and frog songs in the evening. Many screened windows ensure soft breezes day & night. A large covered lanai & screened gazebo allow many opportunities to enjoy being outside. A reclining loveseat and wifi TV available for indoor entertainment.
The space features a queen bed, perfect for a restful night. A well-appointed kitchen allows for easy cooking at home. Enjoy the large bathtub & shower indoors, and an outdoor shower for a quick rinse after the beach. A screened gazebo in the gardens provides a lovely place to nap or meditate or do yoga.
We spend part of the year here, and the other part on an island in Washington State. We love to garden and take great joy in cultivating tropical fruits and flowers. You are welcome to harvest any fruits or herbs that are ready during your stay. Aloha Sanctuary is located in Hawaiian Paradise Park, a residential development in an agricultural area. Feral chickens and roosters are part of daily life here, as are occasional feral pigs. Our property is 1/4 mile from the ocean cliffs, and you can often hear the waves. The Puna Trail, a great way to spend a day, is walking distance from the house. Groceries, gas stations, and restaurants are 15-20 minutes drive away, with some great options. Hilo is 30 minutes away, with great cultural activities and swimming beaches, and Volcano National Park is a 50 minute drive. We offer many suggestions of places to visit in our House Manual.
Whether you’re here for relaxation or adventure, this studio creates a cozy base for your stay. Experience the magic of East Hawaii at the Aloha Sanctuary!
Other things to note:
The home is located on the 2nd story, up 17 steps. The lower level is a garage/ storage space and not included in the rental.
I have been asked about our cleaning fee, so want to explain that presenting our guests with a clean place is very important to us. 100% of the cleaning fee goes to our housecleaner. We pay her a living wage, and she does an excellent job. We can't charge less for shorter stays, as most of the cleaning is the same whether someone stays 1 night or 5 nights. Thank you for understanding, and for helping us to provide good employment to a wonderful local woman!
