The Black Forest is considered one of Germany’s most beautiful landscapes. The small Elz River created the plain where the village of Buchholz lies at the foot of the Kandel. Surrounded by vineyards and opening onto the Rhine Valley, the area is shaped by winegrowing, agriculture, tourism, as well as local crafts and technology companies that ensure a high standard of living. In the midst of this idyllic setting, our family-run guesthouse has been welcoming visitors to Buchholz since 1798.
As a traditional family business, we value social interaction. We prioritize regional products when furnishing and shopping. Thoughtful details throughout create a sense of comfort and well-being.
Our spacious grounds offer plenty of room to relax. From the large, covered south-facing balcony, you enjoy sweeping views of the unspoiled landscape. Horses graze in the meadow, chickens roam the grass.
From Gästehaus Gehri, you can easily reach many attractions and leisure activities in the tri-border region of Black Forest – France – Switzerland. Public transport links take you to Freiburg in just a few minutes. In Buchholz, traditional restaurants within walking distance invite you to explore local cuisine. Distances are short, and the options are diverse.
As a small family hotel, we respond flexibly and personally to daily needs. There is no classic 24-hour reception. You can reach us via the hotel bell at the entrance.
