About this house rental
Bayside on Cedar Creek is a 3-bedroom, 2-bath lakefront lodge on a private peninsula in the Star Harbor community, 75 miles southeast of Dallas. In the cooler months it is built for a weekend away with your group: a wood-burning stone fireplace under vaulted cedar ceilings, a 20x24 game room with a pool table and a credenza of board and card games, and a kitchen island and dining table made for long meals.
WHO IT SUITS
Card and poker weekends, knitting and craft retreats, book clubs, couples' getaways, and families on fall break. One house, everyone under one roof, nothing to plan. Adult groups are welcome; tell us about your group when you book. Parties and events require prior approval.
THE HOUSE
The home sleeps 14 across three bedrooms and nine beds. Two bedrooms have king beds. The third is a kids' room with seven beds, four full-size and three twins, sleeping up to eleven. Two full bathrooms, a full-size washer and dryer, and fiber WiFi throughout.
The great room has hardwood floors, seating for eight or more, and two large TVs. The kitchen has a French-door refrigerator, electric cooktop and oven, dishwasher, microwave, and an island that seats four. The covered patio has a dining table, lounge seating, and a propane grill, and the rear porch faces the lake.
THE FIRE
A bundle of firewood is waiting on arrival, with matches and a lighter; more is available locally.
THE LAKE
The in-ground gunite pool (unheated and open year-round; in the cooler months it is the view) and the private lakeside dock are yours.
LOCATION
Star Harbor is a private, non-HOA community on Cedar Creek Lake with a public 9-hole golf course, a full-service marina, and a community clubhouse. Athens, the nearest town, is 20 minutes for restaurants, antique shops, and breweries. Canton First Monday Trade Days is about 30 minutes north (Oct 29-Nov 1 and Dec 3-6, 2026; verify dates before you go). From the Dallas area the drive is about 90 minutes via I-30 East and Highway 31.

- Any arrival day, any departure day
- Check-in after 4 PM; check-out by 11 AM
- Cleaning fee: $250 per stay
Cancellation
- Full refund 60 or more days before arrival; 50% refund 30 or more days before arrival; no refund inside 30 days

From the very start of our stay to the moment we left, Bayside on Cedar Creek exceeded the expectations of our entire family in every way.This was our first time staying in the Star Harbor community and have to say, it’s a hidden oasis on Cedar Creek Lake! It’s a quiet and quaint community with a 9 hole golf course onsite. We took full advantage of golf cart outings nightly to catch the breathtaking sunsets and pics of deer nearby. The house itself is right on the water with an incredible pool; which was the highlight and where we spent the majority of time during the day. The game room was a huge hit for the kids at night, especially the shuffleboard and ping pong tables!Our host, Mark, was incredible. He was attentive, present and he truly went out of his way to make sure we had a fantastic stay. We enjoyed our stay so much we’ll be booking again soon!
