Steelhead Retreat is the kind of Tahoe home that keeps the day easy: lake in one direction, mountains in the other, and a game room waiting when everyone makes it back. Set a few blocks from the water in Kings Beach, this three-bedroom, three-bath home sleeps eight and gives families or small groups a comfortable North Shore base for beach days, ski runs, and long nights at the pool table.
Inside, the living room leans into easy comfort — leather seating, a big TV, and a stone fireplace that gives the space that classic mountain feel. Just off the main living area, the game room adds a billiards table and extra lounge space, a natural spot for the group to land after a day at the beach, on the trails, or up on the slopes.
The kitchen is set up for real meals, with full-size appliances, cookware, a coffee maker, and barstool seating for quick breakfasts or snacks between outings. The dining area nearby gives everyone a place to sit down together, whether the night calls for takeout, a home-cooked dinner, or a slow morning before heading out.
Sleeping arrangements are built for flexibility. The primary bedroom has a queen bed and an ensuite bath; the second holds two twins; and the third pairs a queen with a twin bunk, giving kids, friends, and mixed groups plenty of ways to settle in. Three full bathrooms take the pressure off the morning scramble when the whole crew is gearing up for a full Tahoe day.
Step out to the balcony for a quiet coffee among the pines, or fire up the propane grill — skewers and a full tool set included — for an easy dinner followed by a few rounds of the board games stashed inside. Grown Alchemist bath products add a small, everyday dose of luxury to the stay.
Location does a lot of the work here. Kings Beach State Recreation Area is a short stroll away, with kayak and paddleboard rentals, gentle shallows for wading, and some of the clearest water on the lake. Town dining is within walking distance — lakeside plates at Jason's Beachside Grille, golf-course views at Spindleshanks, or a smoked-meat breakfast burrito at Tree House Cafe. The Nevada line and the Crystal Bay casinos are minutes east, Diamond Peak is about fifteen minutes out in Incline Village, and Northstar sits roughly twenty toward Truckee, with Tahoe City and downtown Truckee both an easy afternoon out.
