Cozy Room With King-sized Bed

I stayed at Cozy Room with King-sized bed for three nights while getting over my jetlag after arriving from the other side of the planet. My room was large, airy and clean. The shared bathroom was clean and functional. The shower over the bath worked well. It took me a while to discover how the shower tap worked as I hadn't met that fitting before. If it's not familiar to you either, then get some instruction when you are given the tour ;-) There is a full size kitchen downstairs with gas stove, microwave, hot water machine etc. and I was given fridge and cupboard space. This made the accommodation feel more like a very nice backpackers than a hotel. This house is also a home and the kitchen as well as all the other facilities are kept clean and well maintained. My hosts were friendly and welcoming. There was no noise from the owners or other guest while I was there. The house is in a quiet neighborhood that I would call middle class and I felt safe walking around at night. It is about 100m from the 407 bus route that connects to Bridgeport and from there to the airport or into the rest of the city. It is a bit further (about 800m) to the 403 bus route which connects to the bus route going to the Tsawwassen ferry terminal. There is a shopping centre about 20 minutes walk away. This is budget accommodation (shared bathroom) but I feel it was excellent value for money and I am giving it a high score because it exceeded my expectations. I would definitely stay there again.

The room was very spacious, comfortable, and had everything we needed for our stay. I appreciated having a table and chair to work or eat at, and the fan was especially helpful during the summer heat. The shared kitchen was convenient, and the shared bathroom was consistently clean and well maintained.

The morning after we checked in, the owner loudly knocked and banged on our door because he mistakenly thought we were checking out that day, even though our reservation was for two nights. We had just arrived from a 9-hour flight and were exhausted, so being woken up so abruptly was stressful and unnecessary. While they apologized, the apology didn’t feel particularly sincere. I also felt that they seemed noticeably warmer and friendlier toward guests who spoke Chinese than toward us, although that was my personal impression.
