COCO Lifestyle Resort in Pecatu, Uluwatu

The property is beautiful, the room was lovely, and the gym and spa were excellent. I really enjoyed my stay overall, and the location turned out to be more convenient for getting into town than I expected.

The attention to detail and availability of basic services let it down. There were only around four sun loungers at the pool and none on the rooftop. Coffee was unavailable every morning I tried, at different times between 8:30 and 9:30, with a different reason each time. The water dispensers in both the gym and downstairs were repeatedly empty, morning and evening. There were also no towels available in the spa, which meant walking wet through the gym to get one. For somewhere with such impressive facilities, these basics need more consistent attention.

Rooms, gym, pool

The staff were absolutely wonderful and exceeded all our expectations! A special shout-out to Peter, who was always so welcoming, friendly, and full of positive energy. Every member of the team went above and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable and memorable as possible. We truly appreciate all their efforts and the care they put into making our experience so special. Thank you to the entire team for such a fantastic stay. We will definitely be back!

The staff really stood out. Everyone was warm, friendly and helpful, and we had some genuinely nice conversations. Those are the moments we’ll remember most. The welcome drink was also a nice touch. We also really enjoyed the food, really good (breakfast) menu, plenty of drinks, great coffee. And a very comfortable bed! The gym is another plus, with plenty of equipment for a proper workout.

Beautiful on the outside, but the details need a lot more attention (titel) Unfortunately there were quite a few things that stood out during our stay. First of all, the road leading to the hotel. It feels like a beautiful, very “Instagrammable” hotel was simply dropped there without much thought being given to the road leading up to it. The road is uneven, bumpy and full of potholes. Of course, the hotel cannot control everything around it, but the contrast between the polished appearance of the hotel and the road leading there is quite striking. Inside the room, we noticed several design and maintenance issues. There is a gap between the door and the glass, meaning the door doesn’t close properly and water gets out of the shower area. The drainage also cannot handle the rain shower properly, so the bathroom floor quickly gets wet. The shower door also doesn’t work well: when pulled towards you, it hits the toilet, meaning you can only open it from the outside by pushing it inwards. So you basically have to step into the shower before you can turn it on. The rotating TV is a fun idea, but unfortunately the mechanism creaks extremely loudly when you move it. Whenever you turn on the hallway light, a very loud ventilation system also starts running. We also used the hotel’s external laundry service, which promised a 24-hour turnaround. We dropped our laundry off at around 13:30, but only received it back at around 22:30 the following day. Because of the delay, we agreed on a discount, but we did not receive the full agreed amount back. We communicated this to the external party, but unfortunately the only response was essentially “thank you, miss”, with no further action. And that brings us to the biggest issue we experienced: Coco looks beautiful, but it feels like the details haven’t caught up with the design. Everything looks polished and photogenic from the outside, but once you stay there, you start noticing small things everywhere.
