At arrival Mr. Pierre was waiting for us to help us set in. He was very forthcoming and introduced us to local attractions and draw us on a city map a short walking tour for sightseeing the city center, which was very useful and nice. There was also a prepared booklet with the city attractions in English and French. The house itself is really very interesting. An old structure made of stone and wood, very well preserved and repurposed. Inside, there are many bookshelves filled with very interesting books ranging from philosophy and history, to poetry and illustrated comics and overall, it looked like a living house of a very interesting person. It was really a shame we had so little time to browse through all the interesting titles. The house was an old manufacture reclaimed as a living personal space but in a very careless and enjoyable kind of way. There are many charming details, from the wooden staircase to the old chairs in the rooms that seem to be taken directly from an old painting, the toilet on ground floor filled with shelves with poetry and history books, the old wood table in the living room, and on and on. The city was great to discover, even in night light. We managed to walk for hours through its amazingly well preserved stony streets and alleys, the old port, the tanneries, the cathedral, the bridges, the blooming water lilies. Back to the house, the kitchen was fully equipped, the beds were comfortable, all was clean and welcoming. The stereo was a good addition, we listened to some French music at breakfast.

L'établissement est à 12 minutes à pied du centre ville,pas besoin de voiture. On a adoré la Caneterie,le lieu est propre calme et l'accueil est efficace et convivial. Dole est une ville très agréable, à refaire
