Chateau Bowral Luxury Southern Highlands Estate with Poolhouse

Wow. What a property. This place is so magical. We came for a girls weekend away and the photos don’t do it justice. From the moment you drive through the gates and see the views of acres of land from the Porte cochere, it’s just stunning. They have sheep and a cow who was very friendly and came over to us to say hi! They also had two baby lambs! So cute. The interior of the house itself has beautiful high ceilings, a grand piano, and stained glass windows. When the light hits them at golden hour in the afternoon, it was just breathtaking. The kitchen and dining room are such grand spaces where we spent a lot of time all together. We felt like royalty staying here! Also such a great house to take photos in because every room is beautifully styled. The house is very well heated with heating in every room including the bathrooms! Great for our winter stay. There’s a fireplace in the dining room too. The beds are very comfortable and the master suite is huge! The kitchen has everything you need to make a home cooked meal. Amanda and Sammy (owner and property manager) were so lovely and accomodating. They offered us early check in and late check out. They made up all the beds as singles so everyone got their own bed (aside form the master suite which is a double but was fine for us! They gave us a couple of bottles of Centennial wine on arrival and offered a discount for an extended stay which is so generous. This house made our trip to Bowral so memorable. We can’t wait to come back!

There’s nothing we didn’t like.

The inside of the Chateau, gardens, location and whole ambience was absolutely stunning. Chateau Bowral is a very luxurious venue so if you want somewhere really special then this is the place. We were a party of 7 adults and 5 children whose ages range from 9 months to 6 years of age. We were celebrating my husband's 70th and daughter's 38th birthdays. Sammy the Property Manager and Amanda the owner were easy to contact and they bent over backwards to make our stay as comfortable and as memorable as possible. The kitchen was fully equipped which enabled us to have a chef come and cook dinner for us for our main celebration. The house was beautifully warm and cosy with log fires and central heating. The children loved playing outside and watching Sammy feed the animals. It's a short drive to Bowral town centre and also to Burradoo Park Farm. There's also a heated indoor pool to enjoy. It's difficult to describe just how special our stay was. We didn't want to leave!

Amazing property and fit out very different

What I loved most about our stay was that it truly felt like stepping back in time while still enjoying every modern comfort. The décor, design, and attention to detail throughout the château were exceptional, and the quality of everything exceeded our expectations. It had absolutely everything we needed, making our stay effortless and relaxing. The location was perfect, close to Bowral and everything the Southern Highlands has to offer, yet peaceful and private. Staying in such a beautiful historic property has been a bucket-list experience for me for many years, and it absolutely lived up to the dream. Above all, the staff were incredible. They were warm, welcoming, and genuinely cared about making our stay special. Their hospitality made an already amazing experience even better. We left with wonderful memories and can’t wait to return.
