Localização, área verde envolvente de jardins, piscina e da casa em geral.

Área do quarto um pouco pequena para cama de casal, já a casa de banho com excelentes áreas mas podia ser mais pequena para crescer na área do quarto. Iluminação da casa de banho poderia ser um pouco mais forte em especial na zona do espelho. No futuro apostar em gralhador a gás ficava top.

Privacidade e limpeza e simpatia

I would absolutely return for another stay! It was a wonderful getaway, completely surrounded by nature, in a beautiful part of the country. I went for a solo work retreat, to meet with some clients, and to visit this area of Portugal for the first time. The hosts, António and Diana, provided clear & friendly communication before, during, and after my stay. The hosts reached out before my arrival to confirm my arrival time, and they sent clear instructions for accessing the property and the apartment. Shortly after I arrived, they wanted to make sure everything was as expected and that I had everything I needed. They also sent some good recommendations for nearby highlights I might want to visit. (I had a very nice walk to a river beach and Bar do Rio one day.) The grounds at Casas de Gerei are well maintained, and the property is thoughtfully laid out with respect to sun exposure, landscaping, and guest privacy. There was no one else staying at the other unit on the property while I was there, so it felt incredibly private. I imagine even if there had been other guests in the other house, it still would have felt very private, with all this natural beauty to yourself. It was extremely hot (37-40° C) while I was there, and the clean, nicely maintained pool was very refreshing for a daily dip or two. There were sun chairs and a shower for rinsing off by the pool as well. NB - The pool is shared between the two houses, so that might be the only time guests might interact with another party if there were people staying in both houses. Each house has two fantastic outdoor seating areas for morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine. The house itself feels solid and well-insulated. Inside, it was wonderful to have air conditioning in the living/kitchen area, and there's lots of natural light from the large sliding doors during the day. It was a very comfortable place to spend an extended weekend (4-5 days) or even longer.

[this was on me] I had some delays on my travel day and couldn't manage to get there until after dark. It is in a rural area, so if you're unfamiliar with the roads, arriving during the day is highly recommended. This isn't a fault with the property. It's a benefit ;-) My note is only to encourage other visitors to get there during daylight to make it easier on yourself and have more time to enjoy the relaxing setting. The hosts were both accommodating and helpful during my delayed journey. 🤗 [minor/seasonal] In the mornings, I used the provided net to skim bees and other insects from the pool. There were a lot that ended up landing in there for a drink (or to cool off!) and then couldn't get out. I felt bad that so many drowned overnight. This was only a very minor inconvenience and merely a byproduct of having a pool. I'm not sure that a cover would help or just provide other complications. Maybe running the filter system at night and in the morning could help some as well. [minor/seasonal] While the building is well-insulated, I happened to be there during a heat wave, and outside temperatures didn't cool down much at night. Perhaps only because of the extreme temperatures, the AC in the living/dining area didn't seem to be doing much to reach the area where the bed is. A portable fan would perhaps be a good addition to help circulate air in those occasional instances, but this is also minor & seems like an exception.
