The Toll Bar

We stayed here for a week in October and Castleton was still very busy and vibrant. The cottage is on the Main Street with a constant stream of people going past the window. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon when all the car parks were full, during the week on street parking was easy to find. The cottage was immaculately clean and very well set up, the appliances, heating, shower room, kitchen equipment etc are first rate. The stairs are narrow and steep with low beams and the bedroom is cramped. The patio is accessed through a side gate from the churchyard so you might feel a bit hemmed in during the summer.

The coffee machine was no good without the pods and there was no cafetière. We were only supplied with 2 dishwasher tablets for a week, one tea towel, no spare bin bags and not enough loo roll, this all felt a bit mean. Would be fine for a shorter stay.

Superbe cottage au cœur de Castleton et des circuits de randonnées du Peak District. Habitation confortable, très bien aménagée et pleine de charme.
