Osmotherley is very popular with cyclists and walkers with the Cleveland Way and the Coast-to-Coast long distance footpaths passing close by and it’s also the start (or finish!) of the famous Lyke Wake Walk. Osmotherley has attractive stone-built houses centred around an old village cross with three pubs, a picturesque coffee shop, a well-stocked general store and a fish and chip shop. The nearby market towns of Northallerton, Stokesley, Helmsley, Thirsk and Ripon with its famous racecourse, have cobbled market squares, quaint little alleyways awash with cosy tearooms and lovely delicatessens, all offering excellent shopping and weekly markets. The historic cathedral cities of York, Ripon, Durham and Newcastle are all within an hours drive, as well as the spa town of Harrogate; this great area has something for everyone.
