    I originally booked a stay at the Heritage Rose INN at Dal Lake for a family trip, but our experience was incredibly frustrating right from the beginning. As soon as we arrived at the Srinagar station, the management called to inform us that they were moving our accommodation to a different property of theirs called Arcadian Idyll. We were on a tight schedule for our short stay and wanted to maximize our sightseeing time, so we simply did not have the time or energy to argue about the sudden change. Unfortunately, we deeply regretted having to accept the alternative. Arcadian Idyll was nothing compared to what we actually paid for. Key Issues During Our Stay: Subpar Room and Location: The new location was nowhere near as good as the pictures of the original Dal Lake property. The room they gave us was extremely small and absolutely not value for money considering the rate we were charged. Severe Lack of Staff: The alternative property was incredibly short-staffed. The service was so lacking that we had to personally leave our room and track down staff just to ask for some basic drinking water. Unprofessional Management: Springing a completely different, lower-quality hotel on guests as soon as they arrive in the city is an unacceptable business practice. I strongly advise against booking here if you want to get the room you actually paid for. This unexpected relocation and poor service was a major letdown for our family trip.

    Room heating did not work. They do not provide electric blanket. Something as basic as an electric kettle was also not available.
