About this house rental
Set on a private 1.3 acre property just five minutes from Okemo Mountain's Jackson Gore Base and seven minutes from the restaurants, shops and markets of charming downtown Ludlow, you're close to everything - without feeling like it.
Every Season is a Season to Love here!!
Summer - The area is a playground for hikers, mountain bikers, and gravel cyclists, with trails and roads winding through some of Vermont's most stunning scenery, including long range views, waterfalls, streams and lakes. Speaking of lakes - Lake Rescue is just a half-mile walk from the door - throw your kayaks or canoes on the car and go. This 180 acre Lake is a hidden gem, practically in your backyard, offering excellent year-round fishing - we're talking largemouth and smallmouth bass, lake trout, brown trout, rainbow trout, perch, and pickerel. Whether you're a serious angler or just looking to drift around in a canoe with a cooler, this lake delivers.
Fall - Vermont fall foliage is the real deal, and Ludlow is right in the thick of it. The hills around the property explode with color in September and October — grab coffee, hop in the car, and just drive. You can't go wrong.
Winter - HIT THE SLOPES!! In the heart of Vermont Ski Country! So close you'll be on Okemo's lifts before anyone else has had their coffee. Killington's Skyeship Base Lodge, where you can catch the Skyeship Gondola right off of VT Route 4, is 15-20 minutes away. Magic and Bromley Mountains are under 40 minutes away, and Stratton is less than 50 mins. Downhill not your thing? Cross country/alpine touring centers are close by, as are snow tubing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. Come home to a steaming hot tub on the deck or sink into the jetted tub - your legs will thank you.
Spring - April-May is a vibrant, transitional season in Vermont, featuring maple sugaring, spring skiing, blooming wildflowers, and waterfall chasing. Visit the sugarhouses where maple syrup is made, explore the small towns that boast crafts and artisanal woodworkers, glassblowers, and artists of all media, attend farm events, taste craft beverages, and take scenic drives to see the landscape turn green.
