Welcome to the enchanting Forest Edge Retreat, a secluded sanctuary nestled amidst the serene landscapes of Fancy Gap. This sublime retreat is part of the acclaimed Buffalo Mountain Getaway collection and is distinguished as a SuperHost location. Perfectly situated, it's only an 8-minute drive from I-77 and a quick 15-minute journey to the heart of Mt Airy.
The Space:
Perfect for a party of four, our meticulously designed accommodations include a luxurious master bedroom furnished with a plush king bed and an equally charming guest bedroom featuring a cozy queen bed. Both are havens of tranquility to unwind after a day of exciting activities.
For our active guests, enjoy hitting a few golf balls into the field, or bring your bow and do a little target practice. For the lovers of tranquility and nature, the front porch is the perfect place to relax, observe the local wildlife and soak in the surrounding serenity.
When in the mood for an outdoor barbecue, there's a gas grill at your disposal. Elevate your mountain getaway experience at our Forest Edge Retreat, where comfort meets the wilderness.
Disclaimer: WE LOVE THIS HOUSE, but it's not right for everyone. This home is at the edge of the forest and is remote. For guests that are not comfortable in a remote location, this is NOT the place for you. For guests that are not used to roads that are not paved or state maintained, the driveway is fairly long and can be bumpy as it has a rock base, this is NOT the place for you. If you are coming in the winter or when the weather can be snowy or icy, and you do not have AWD, this is NOT the place for you.
Guest Access:
Door code access will be sent to you 24 hours prior to check-in.
The Neighborhood:
Secluded cabin in the woods with all the amenities of home. The driveway is not state maintained, so it's a little bumpy. Unfortunately, every time it rains the ruts return. We access fine in our Ford Fusion, just take it slow.
Other Things to Note:
1 - Pets allowed with permission, but you must let us know in ADVANCE.
2 - Absolutely NO Smoking on the property, smoking will incur a penalty fee of $250
3 - Please do not move furniture
4 - Keep it clean. When you leave it should look the same as you entered, with the exception of bed linens and towels
5 - Remember it's our home, so treat it with respect
6 - The grill is propane.

We are just a phone call or text away. Look for information inside the retreat.

Beautiful home for a mountain getaway. Host was honest, home was immaculately clean. Nice appliances, nice tv's, speedy internet for being on the side of a mountain, nice furniture ( was very impressed with the furniture, towels, bathroom cleanliness, nice extra blankets, utensils ). This property doesnt use thrift store, goodwill things or appliances to just have a rental and make extra money, they care about the quality of the stay. 2 bottles of wine ( we dont drink wine but the gesture in itself), complimentary milk and cereal. The Vaughns were a great host to my family and I. I didn't like the security deposit aspect as i take care of others things better then my own and it was more then my 2 day stay, but after staying at the property I see why this was required. Possibly to weed out those who don't take care of things or as an insurance of keeping the quality of the amenities. We will rent from the Vaughns again as i have family local to the area.
