The house is very well exposed, and especially in its living room part which benefits from different openings from the south-east to the south-west. The house is surrounded by a garden with trees and flowers which makes it easy to isolate yourself from outside eyes. It is on the corner of a one-way street and a cul-de-sac. Our house is located 100 meters from the fishing and marina port of Meschers with free entertainment and concerts in summer offered by the town hall, a park with a playground for children and a pumptrack (mogul field) for all. On the port, bars and restaurants are open 7 days a week in summer; a sea trip to discover the islands and the coast is also possible.
Meschers is a former fishing village and today a small family seaside resort on the Gironde estuary 10 kms south of Royan.
A town of 3500 inhabitants, Meschers offers four weekly markets in winter and a daily market in summer, on the church square (about 800 m from the house); various shops and services in the town centre (pharmacy, restaurants, bars, post office, doctors) and a superU. (about 1200 m from the house) easily accessible on foot or by bike in all seasons.
The house is ideally located in the Gironde estuary, allowing you to discover to the south, the communes of Talmont sur Gironde, Barzan, Mortagne sur Gironde... and to the north, the resorts of Royan, St Palais sur Mer, Ronce-les-Bains, the island of Oléron... It is also easy to discover on foot or by bike, the close surroundings of the house: the corniche, the 4 beaches of Meschers, the caves of Matata and Régulus and, Talmont sur Gironde via a coastal path...
