Modern loft next to Piazza del Duomo

The apartment is beautiful- spacious, modern, and very clean. The location was excellent- we walked out of the door straight to all the center attractions.. We had a kitchenette, which was very convenient for having an evening tea or a quick snack on a spot. The convenience of a washer is also a big plus.

The communication when and how to meet the operator was unclear- we had to call twice to let the operator know that we are at the door. We had to wait for the operator for about 25-30 minutes by the building with multiple suitcases. The air conditioner didn’t function for 3 days out of our 5 nights staying there.They finally fixed it on day 4. We had to suffer in the unbearable heat at nights ( the thermostat was showing +30.3 C inside the room!) until the technician came. There was on and off water situation in the shower due to the low pressure on the 3d floor. On the night of the day 3 the hot or warm water disappeared and we had to take a cool shower for the next 2 days. The technician fixed it on day 4. The refrigerator was very weak and the freezer didn’t freeze at all ( our ice cream has melted in it). I understand Florence is a historical town with medieval buildings and all of those small facility inconveniences are expected at some point. We found out about the problems only at nights, when we were back from a full day of tours and city explorations, being away from the apartment the whole day. The apartment management could respond by the next day only, and the on the first day after reporting the air conditioner issue ( it was after our second sleepless night in the “hot sauna”) nothing was fixed except the operator bringing us a fan by the end of the day. I had to text and to call multiple times, but was told that the operator didn’t notice the problem and no one complained before us! Although the issue was finally resolved after I called the main center in Booking.com (UK), I think the White River management of the apartment complex could have been more generous on providing us partial refund and on reacting to the problems faster, not taking alway the customers’ time and enjoyment of their vacation time when trying to get to the management attention.
