Elegant Sea Retreat in Arenzano Pineta

I was a little hesitant when booking because there were no reviews yet, as the property was new to Booking.com. I stayed here solo for eight nights. Overall, the accommodation was comfortable and had some nice furnishings, but I think the name is misleading. While pleasant, I wouldn't describe it as "elegant." It felt quite cluttered in places, there was noticeable dust, a musty smell, and limited natural light. The kitchen was missing what I consider to be basic amenities, including a toaster, an electric kettle, or a coffee machine. There was also no toilet paper. The shower seals were ineffective, causing the bathroom floor to flood with every use. I was also unable to use the bath because the plug didn't seal properly, and the outdoor sunshade had green slime on it. The sea is around 2 km away, and the walk involves a steep, winding road that was quite difficult in temperatures above 30°C. Fortunately, I discovered a nearby funicular on my second day, which made getting to and from the beach much easier. My biggest issue was that the listing advertises a private pool, but there isn't one at the property. There is a nearby pool that guests can use for an additional fee, but it is quite expensive for a full day. I found this to be very misleading. When I raised the issue, the host was dismissive and did not respond to Booking.com Customer Service when they contacted them. Despite these issues, I had a comfortable stay overall. However, I believe the listing should be more accurate so that guests know what to expect.
