Dianeira Luxury Suites with Shared Pool near Matala

The pool area was lovely and we really liked the layout of the accommodation. The spa bath was a nice touch, and having convenient parking was also a big plus. It’s in a very quiet and peaceful location.

Unfortunately, the communication and organisation fell short. The accommodation wasn’t ready when we arrived, and we were left waiting while they sorted out access to our room. The mattress was very hard, and the advertised sofa bed wasn’t actually a sofa bed, just a sofa. It was even harder and more uncomfortable than the main bed. We had also arranged in advance to stay around the pool for a few hours after checkout. However, this clearly wasn’t communicated properly. Our luggage ended up locked inside our room, and we had to wait several hours for the cleaner to arrive before we could retrieve it. There are also no toilet facilities available around the pool once you have checked out. This should have been made clear when we agreed to stay by the pool, as we probably would have made different arrangements if we had known. The property is also quite remote, which is worth noting before booking. There are only around three places to eat within walking distance and a small mini-market, so having a car is useful if you want more choice. Overall, the property itself has a lot going for it, particularly the pool and accommodation, but better communication and organisation would have made a significant difference to our stay.
