Black Cap Camden

Everything! I booked two rooms, both were spectacular, the beds were so comfy and the shower was spectacular. The bar and outside area was so lovely!

The room was lovely and very clean 👌 The staff where brilliant and very friendly 😘 There is a bar with air con and a lovely outdoor terrace part 😀 They also have drag nights on a weekend for a small fee Camden Market and Camden lock are just a short walk away Plenty of things to do just outside black cap Very lively

No air con in the room (extreme heat this particular weekend) so made sleeping very difficult Even with the fan on That is my only complaint about the place 😀

Beautiful room, oppulent design, feels luxurious. The bed was very comfortable! Also lovely to stay at a place with such a rich LGBTQI+ history. You can really see & feel the community and the love that’s been poured into this place!

I would have wished for a bit more options to store my luggage. Even one or two hooks and a clothes hanger would have already made a difference. The one stool was enough for my own backpack but I don’t know where two people woule have stored their luggage. It was a bit unfortunate that I stayed there during the heatwave as the room was not climatized and couldn’t really be aired out, so it was often much hotter than outside. But that’s the building, not the hotel!

Location was brilliant. In the heart of Camden.

This place could really be something but they just haven’t hit the mark on a few things to warrant the cost of the room in my opinion. Check in was a pain. They want you to pay them directly upon check in but have no means to pay other than a email link that wasn’t sent prior so had to be sent there and then which had issues sending. It took a while and the poor girl had to ring the owner and get multiple lap tops to send the link. The room cleanliness was not up to scratch at all. The sink hadn’t been cleaned. It was dirty behind the taps. The shower screen clearly hadn’t been either with water marks on it. Coffee bags provided but no tea bags. The bathroom sink was blocked so we had to ask the girl to unblock. There was a random cardboard box in the room. When we returned after a night out our room card wasn’t working- thankfully the bar was still open otherwise we would’ve been in trouble as there’s no one about and the pub is closed. Improvement in communication also as I’d messaged the property asking if we could leave our luggage to receive a message 24 hours later (when we’d checked out 🤣) Definitely not worth the cost of £224. Much much better places I’ve stayed in.
