At the end of each adventurous day, you’ll love returning here to BBQ in the back garden and bubble beneath the stars in the hot tub.

Dating from the 18th century, this traditional brick-and-flint, thatched cottage oozes chocolate-box charm. Inside, original features are thoughtfully complemented with contemporary comfort and style for a relaxed and homely feel. Light and bright with an original ceiling beam, brick fireplace and plush blue sofas, the lounge is warm and inviting, perfect for cosy evenings in. When tummies start to rumble, you’ll find all the essentials for effortless self-catering in the compact yet well-equipped kitchen, before gathering in the conservatory dining area. Upstairs, two beautifully presented bedrooms set beneath the eaves, one double and one twin, promise restful nights. In keeping with cottages of this age, the stairs can be steep and narrow. The shower room is on the ground floor. Step out the back to find a private oasis with a BBQ, outdoor dining area and a luxurious hot tub. With parking for two cars and the option to book the adjoining cottage for larger groups, it’s a superb base for a sociable getaway.

For quintessential days at the seaside, venture to Cromer (6 miles) or Sheringham (9.5 miles). The former offers a Victorian pier and lifeboat station, superb fish and chip, and Cromer crab, a local delicacy, while Sheringham is home to the Poppy Line, a steam railway running inland to Holt. For nature lovers, Felbrigg Hall’s 520 acres of woodland and scenic trails are within 13 miles.
