About this cottage rental
A duplex home in an authentic rural setting, featuring a patio and a pool. A comfortable double bedroom opening onto a sunny balcony and featuring its own bathroom with a shower. The kitchen is spacious. The layout is ideal for a couple, possibly accompanied by a child or a third person.
This century-old building is strategically located for exploring Andalusia, just one hour from Granada, Málaga, and Córdoba.
It features a recently renovated house spread over three levels. You enter through the kitchen and dining room. A staircase leads up to the first floor, where the master bedroom and bathroom are located. Another small staircase leads down to an additional room, which can also serve as a small living room. There are two toilets (one in the bathroom and another on the lower level). A second door provides direct access to the patio where the pool is located.
To preserve the rustic charm of the farmhouse, we’ve opted for understated decor. The walls are white, and the wooden doors are heavy and dark brown. The decor is minimalist.
It features a fully equipped kitchen with induction cooktops, a fairly spacious countertop, a large refrigerator with a freezer, a traditional oven, and basic kitchen utensils (dishes, wine glasses, pots, coffee maker, teapot, toaster, blender, basic seasonings, etc.).
The master bedroom is bright and comfortable. The bathroom with a shower is adjacent to the bedroom, on the same landing. You can sit on the balcony to enjoy the views, from sunrise to sunset. The south-facing orientation ensures a pleasant experience in winter, during the shoulder seasons, or on summer nights. The blinds help keep the apartment cool in the summer.
The second bedroom has a sofa bed and can be considered an extra room, for example, to accommodate a child or a third adult. A half-bath with a sink is attached to this second room.
Outside, there are small, movable wooden tables, as well as chairs and lounge chairs with cushions.
A pergola made of palm fronds provides shade. There are also two basic, portable umbrellas available for a deposit. A barbecue is provided in the patio. The patio is spacious. It consists of a paved area and a tiled area (around the pool).
La Era is a place to unwind; there is no television. Cell phone (data) coverage is generally good, ensuring satisfactory Internet access for most of our guests. However, if you need a high-speed connection—for professional or other reasons—we can recommend telecom stores in Loja, the nearest city, which will offer solutions tailored to your needs.
Sheets and towels are provided. We change them once a week. There is no washing machine in your rural home, but a laundry service is available as an option (8 euros per load). There is also a clothesline and clotheslines with clothespins. Upon request, we can provide an ironing board and an iron.
On the first day of your stay, you must pay a security deposit of 300 euros in person. This will be refunded in full on the day of departure, provided no damage is found. In the event of damage to the building, the furniture, or the provided accessories, the security deposit will be used to cover repair costs in proportion to the estimated extent of the damage.
Regarding energy and heating, we encourage eco-friendly behavior: the walls of the homes are thick and do a reasonable job of keeping the interior cool in summer and warm in the off-season, so many visitors choose not to use heating (except during the height of winter). We provide extra blankets if needed. However, we fully understand that groups and families may desire greater comfort. For this reason, we have provided several heating options.
Heating options available upon request:
Electric radiator = 10 euros / day
Cart of olive wood for the fireplace = 10 euros
Portable gas heater (with refillable gas cylinder, a very common system in Spain) = 20 euros per cylinder
Set of several electric radiators = actual consumption billed according to the meter at a rate of 0.30 euros per kW.
