About this house rental

, a rental in an exceptional setting
for your vacation in Quercy

(description written by one of our former guests)

Perched atop a hill, you’ll overlook lush green countryside and be immersed in absolute tranquility, far from any traffic. You’ll be in a small, secluded hamlet; the house offers a bright interior, where you’ll enjoy modern comforts and a welcome coolness. A south-facing, single-level terrace opening off the kitchen awaits you; with the barbecue, you’ll feel right at one with nature. From this partially shaded terrace, you’ll surely catch the scent of several flower beds and aromatic plants. At times, the song of the cicada will lull you during the hottest moments of summer; you’ll also admire the ceaseless dance of swallows and swifts, as well as the majestic flight of kites. The nimble leaps of the squirrels will amaze and enchant you. In the treetops of the tall trees, the cooing of the turtledoves will herald a pleasant day. In the fall, you’ll surely hear the bellow of the stag and likely catch a glimpse of him—the majestic king of our forests in the midst of his herd. In the spring, you’ll admire roe deer scattered across the meadows, oblivious to the song of the cuckoos. Hawthorns and blackthorns will be in bloom—the first signs of spring—and you will surely recognize them from afar.

This charming home is situated on the edge of a magnificent little park, filled with trees and flowers and home to a large number of songbirds. Centuries-old trees, some of rare species, create a magnificent interplay of light and shadow. If you’re a connoisseur of tree species, you’ll delight in discovering sophora, ginkgo, paulownia, tulip tree, albizia, and more than fifty varieties of trees. From the top of the hill, where this magnificent, authentic hamlet is located, a path beautifully shaded by old oak trees will lead you to a lovely pond below, bathed in sunlight. Fed by clear water, it offers a refreshing respite—a true reservoir of fresh water ideal for fishing and swimming, a mirror in which the hills and forests are reflected. Perhaps in the morning you’ll spot a few roe deer, does, or other game coming to drink, or at day’s end, a solitary heron always on the lookout for fish. If you relax there, you’ll hear the rustling of the poplar and willow leaves. Along the banks of the small stream that flows into it—a mere trickle in summer, sometimes bubbling in spring or fall—lives a rich variety of aquatic wildlife. A few hundred meters away, a charming walking trail winds its way through marshes and ponds; from one of its boardwalks, you’ll overlook expanses of reeds. You’ll have the chance to discover the unspoiled, wild nature of this area, designated a “nature reserve.”

If you stay on the hill, near the hamlet, you’ll pass through a small orchard and head straight to the pool—a large, secluded, and well-sheltered space. Surrounded by a sunny, paved area and a shaded lawn, you’ll find warmth or coolness, whichever you prefer. In addition, you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of the village standing out against the vast expanses of forest stretching as far as the eye can see. Here and there, you’ll spot a few cliffs, further evidence of a rolling landscape crisscrossed by streams. In the distance, you’ll hear the last remaining farmers in our countryside still harvesting their crops.
---
You won’t have to worry about maintaining the pool or the grounds, and you’ll feel safe in this secure residential complex; the cottage you’ll be staying in and its small outbuilding, which you’ll have full use of, are located in an enclosed garden bordered by a deer park where young fawns love to shake off the dust and frolic.
A wonderful attraction for children and a romantic setting for nature lovers. Take the trail through the woods and walk along the edge of a forest that also offers beautiful walks thanks to its well-maintained paths… nature is all yours!
