There is also a first-floor open-plan living space with a kitchen, dining are and sitting area. Outside, there is a delightful courtyard with mature plants and shrubbery, and a gravelled area with furniture. Beals Yard is a romantic retreat, perfect any time of year. The historic market town of Alnwick is known for its dominating Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland. In 2002 The Castle Gardens opened o the public, boasting Europe's largest cascading water feature, a fabulous (and enormous) treehouse, a delightful rose garden and a beautiful, walled ornamental garden. Harry Potter fans will recognise the castle as being the set for Hogwarts, while the town itself offers a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants and an array of attractions.
