About this apartment rental

Some trips call for square footage and a long list of rooms. This one is the opposite kind — a sunlit studio where the only real plan is the beach. Ocean View Efficiency sits inside Island Retreat, one of Port Aransas's most loved beachfront communities, with the dunes and the Gulf just past the balcony railing.

The studio keeps things easy in the best way. Two queen beds sleep up to four, and a small dining table gives you a spot for morning coffee or a card game after dark. The full kitchen handles sandy-feet lunches and low-key dinners in, there's a TV for slow afternoons, and the open layout stays bright and airy from sunup on. Step out to the private balcony for the part everyone comes for: dune views, the steady sound of the surf, and a salt breeze that makes it tough to head back inside.

Island Retreat is built for the kind of week where you barely have to plan anything. Two boardwalks cross the dunes straight to the sand, so the walk from your door to the water takes just a few minutes. Back in the community, there's a pool to cool off in, along with tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts and plenty of green space for whoever isn't ready to call it a beach day.

The setting is pure Port A. You're off 11th Street in the golf cart zone, a quick ride from the center of town, where the fishing fleet runs charters out of the harbor and seafood spots like Tortuga's Saltwater Grill and Grumbles serve up the day's catch. Local gift shops, easygoing beach bars, and deep-sea outfitters are all close when you want a break from the sand. - Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in this home. If undisclosed pets are brought into the home without AvantStay's approval, there is a fine of $500 per pet.
- This HOA/Condo strictly prohibits pets of any kind, including Emotional Support Animals (ESAs). Service Animals, as defined by law, are permitted. If you plan to bring a Service Animal, please notify us in advance so we can inform the HOA. Important Note: If it is determined that the animal is not a certified Service Animal, eviction may occur. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
- Construction is always happening somewhere in Port Aransas; we can’t guarantee that you won’t hear/see construction, building, or community improvement projects and events during your stay.
- Cable/WIFI is provided as a convenience; Port A does experience outages from time to time. Services can be intermittent on an island.
- Be sure to inquire about discounted Winter Texan/Snowbird rates and long-term stay discounts!
- Please remember that you are on an island; mosquitos/pests can be plentiful several times per year. Our properties are treated by professional pest control service every 4-8 weeks.
- Please note that the maximum occupancy includes infants and babies. Ensure that the total number of guests, including little ones, adheres to the specified occupancy limit.
- Guests can rent a golf cart from Coastal Eds! We encourage you to book the golf cart with Coastal Eds as soon as possible, we cannot guarantee availability if you choose to delay booking.
- Guests must be 25 years or older to book this home. Guests under the age of 25 must be accompanied by an adult. Per HOA rules, any group without someone 25 years or older present is subject to eviction.
- Washers and Dryers coin laundry are in the complex and available for guest use.

Parking Details:

- There is no assigned parking, so you can park anywhere within the complex.

This is a smoke-free property. Violation of the no-smoking policy will result in forfeiture of the security deposit, a $300 smoking fee, and liability for any fire or property damage costs.

As part of our commitment to being good neighbors, occupancy limits and quiet hours (9pm-8am) are strictly enforced. No speakers or sound systems will be provided for use in our properties. Violation of any noise ordinances will be subject to fines that can reach up to $10,000 per violation.

Events or parties are not allowed without prior written approval and an additional fee. Any unauthorized parties or events will be shut down and a fine will be assessed. Please inquire for more information about our event policies and fees.

There is nothing more important to us at AvantStay than the health, safety, and experience of our guests & staff. We've enhanced our cleaning and sanitation protocols and are taking extra care to disinfect all surfaces between reservations with hospital-grade disinfecting solutions.

As a reminder, we do work with 3rd party vendors to maintain the property, and although we adhere to the strictest CDC guidelines and advise all contractors to wear PPE equipment, we can not always enforce. We strongly advise guests to please deny access if any vendors fail to meet and adhere to these standards.

This was our 4th time staying here I believe. We have always loved it & the owners. This time was way different with the condo itself. Much more run down. Sliding glass door would barely open or shut & was so dirty you couldn't see through it as well as the balcony itself. We were told about the door handle which we understand but accidentally shut it all the way once on the balcony and couldnt get it back open. Thankfully our teen son was inside and opened it. Window was broken, wall plug by bed looks like a fire hazard as you have to be careful when unplugging it or the whole thing wants to come out of the wall. There is spray foam all around it which doesn't hold it. Spray foam all down the wall beside the frig as well. No fire alarm which we did see in the top of a kitchen cabinet later on. One of the beds that our sons slept in seemed to be almost falling apart. Headboard leans a LOT & would bang against the wall just when sitting down on it so we had to pull it out some. Bed linens were nice and clean as well as towels. Bathroom still updated nicely but just for esthetics, the plunger & toilet brush so nasty and makes it feel gross when its not. I think the cleaning people were literally there maybe 15 min. We were a little early, around 3:30 but we saw them sitting a few vehicles down just sitting there smoking. They go in with what we think is clean towels/bed linens and withing 15 min are back out and sitting in van smoking again which is why it wasn't cleaned well.
