We almost cancelled the trip. Work had exhausted all four of us, and for weeks we kept saying we’d organize something “next month.” But this time, we finally made it happen—and even though it was just a one-night stay, it was exactly what we needed. We arrived late, tired, hungry, and not quite sure what to expect. But from the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcome. The director greeted us warmly, sat down with us, made sure we were comfortable, and even arranged a delicious meal without us having to ask. After a long day, that simple act of kindness meant more than he probably realized. And then there was the homemade jam. It might sound strange, but it became one of the most memorable parts of our stay. We still talk about it. Maybe it was the care that went into making it, or maybe it was just the perfect thing at the perfect moment. Whatever the reason, we looked forward to it every morning. When I finally asked if I could have a little extra, they generously gave me a jar to take home—and that absolutely made my day. The villa was beautiful, and for one evening we did exactly what we had come for: nothing. We chatted, floated in the pool, laughed, and enjoyed each other’s company. The main pool was stunning. When we first saw it, one of us actually said, “Wait, stop,” so we could all take a moment to admire it together. What stayed with us most was the peace and quiet. No traffic, no city noise is just birds, the breeze, and nature all around us. In less than 24 hours, we felt ourselves slowing down and relaxing in a way we hadn’t for a long time. We arrived exhausted and left refreshed. Not bad for just one night. Thank you, Aarawild, for your wonderful hospitality, the peaceful escape, and of course, the unforgettable jam. We stayed at the hotel and had an extraordinary experience — without a doubt one of the best experiences we have ever had. The manager of the place thought of every detail, starting with the authentic welcome according to Sri Lankan tradition, which from the first moment made us feel that we had arrived at a special place. The hotel itself is located in the heart of impressive nature, with a magical atmosphere of a forest, butterflies flying around everywhere like in fairy tales and a relaxing silence that is difficult to explain in words. One of the highlights was undoubtedly the main pool — built of rocks and natural waterfalls, as if taken from nature itself. A breathtaking sight and a special experience in itself. The room was equipped to a very high standard — exceptionally luxurious beds, a bathroom rich in quality spa products, and lots of small and exciting surprises that added to the experience a sense of luxury and true pampering. The entire staff was exceptionally attentive, courteous, and dedicated. Every request was answered with a big smile, patience, and wholehearted service, making us feel welcome and cared for throughout our stay. The food was simply amazing — varied, fresh, rich and unusually tasty! We enjoyed every dish. Even our children, who are very picky eaters, enjoyed themselves and ate with great pleasure. In addition, the hotel can arrange a wide variety of excursions in the area. We chose a trip that is tailored to children, and it was an unforgettable experience — a magical route in a nearby forest, among ancient trees and spectacular historical sites. At the end of the route, we arrived at a lovely lake where you can wade your feet alongside small stingrays, and the day ended with a sumptuous picnic meal that looked like it was taken from a movie.
