The Wheelhouse, Ballycastle

Beautiful place with some adorable friendly cats. Kevin was very welcoming and generous with his time showing us the place.

Sad we didn’t stay longer.

This is such a beautiful property - a lot of thought & effort has gone into providing a quirky, cosy space for guests staying. Although breakfast wasn't included in the price there was a basket of eggs, along with a fresh loaf of bread and milk for us which was really appreciated. The fridge was also stacked with various drinks which we were not expecting - such a thoughtful touch. There was loads of butter, coffee, jams etc to use. Although we aren't whiskey drinkers, Kevin & Tracy had 2 miniature bottles of whiskey left in the living area for us. The Wheelhouse was within easy walking distance of the town and the beach so we were able to dander into town for dinner and drinks without having to worry about driving. Kevin was great craic, and a great resource for good places to eat nearby (as well as making sure we took the easy walking route avoiding the really steep hills lol). Whilst we were just looking for somewhere to chill out for the weekend, The Wheelhouse is perfectly located if you're wanting to use it as a base to explore the North Coast. While chatting with Kevin we found out this is their first season hosting The Wheelhouse & it's evident from chatting to him that he is very proud of what they have achieved and rightly so.

We did have a wee issue on our 1st night but Tracy got us sorted out quickly & it didn't ruin our stay.

The apartment was very well equipped- even extras like bread, milk and eggs. The location was quiet and private with easy parking.

Spacious and well equipped

Sand in shower, bedding and towels had a damp feeling and smell.
