Neerthanal Service Villa at Sulthan Bathery Wayanad

This was my first stay in Kerala and it was sublime. Traveling solo from the US. The villa is spacious and set in serene nature, with a burbling creek within earshot and accessible via small side gate. The grounds were extremely well kept and very aesthetic. The host Rama was incredibly gracious and went above and beyond the call of duty. For example, he inquired on short notice on my behalf as to whether the nearby Edakkal caves would be open for visitors, due to recent landslides in the Wayanad area, and recommended other areas to visit. I would never have been able to do this research on my own. Splendid breakfast was served by courier promptly, including traditional Kadala and Puttu, banana and coffee. At the end of the visit, Rama arranged a ride into town for me, to see a Jain temple. I got the chance to take pictures with the groundskeeper and his son, the both genuine trustworthy and kind. I would give this place three thumbs up if I could, especially for international visitors seeking a respite from the hotel and resort circuit.
