About this cottage rental
This holiday cottage is tucked away in the Dartmoor National Park and sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms.
The Space:
On the south-eastern slopes of Dartmoor is the pretty village of Holne, with its 13th century church and Community Shop & Tearoom. On the edge of Holne, is Forestoke Linhay, a detached, barn conversion on a small working farm. With open moorland just outside the farm gates the location is perfect for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. The cottage is simply furnished and full of character with exposed stone walls and wooden beams. The small and cosy lounge/kitchen/dining area is warmed by a wood burning stove. Adjoining the living area, there is a rustic conservatory where doors open onto an enclosed, terraced patio garden. From the twin bedroom, doors open onto a small patio and the double bedroom has extensive views towards the south coast, taking in Hembury and Holne Woods.
The Neighborhood:
Ashburton is in the Dartmoor National Park, a spot from which to explore the moors and coastline. There is plenty of scenery in South Devon and it offers opportunities for walking, pony trekking, canoeing, fishing and beach-goers. Ashburton has artisan shops and a museum. It has tea rooms, a wine bar and a deli. In the area, Dartmoor has villages with thatched cottages and ancient churches. Lustleigh, North Bovey, Chagford and Widecombe-in-the- Moor are examples. The seaside town of Teignmouth is half hour away and Blackpool Sands further down the coast is one of South Devon's most beautiful beaches. Whether it's a moor or coast that you’re seeking for your getaway, Ashburton is a central town from to base your break.
