About this cottage rental

Set in the village of High Newton and just 4 miles from the picturesque Cumbrian coast and Morecambe Bay, this stone-built and spacious home is perfect for families and groups of friends with up to two dogs in tow. If you fancy a night away from the kitchen, then you’ll find not one, but two Michelin Star restaurants nearby, one in High Newton and the other in the village of Cartmel (3 miles). In Cartmel you can also enjoy pleasant strolls through winding streets that are busy with independent shops and a vibrant weekly market where you can stock up on local produce. See the best of the Lake District with trips to Lake Windermere or Coniston Water (both within 13 miles) and visit the popular national park towns and villages of Winster, Grizedale, Windermere, and Ambleside (all within 16 miles).


Park up in the two private bays that await on arrival and take a moment to appreciate the pretty, stone exterior of the cottage and its surrounding greenery. The Cumbrian charm continues as you step inside to the entrance porch where you can kick off muddy walking boots and wipe down adventurous hounds. Walk into the spacious and stylish lounge, feel the underfloor heating beneath you and flick on the Smart TV as you sink into the sumptuous sofas. If it’s chilly out, fire up the crackling wood burner and settle in for a cosy night. When it’s time to eat, find that the well-appointed kitchen/diner boasts all the space and amenities needed to cook up holiday feasts for the group, who can enjoy the chef’s hard work at the chic dining table here, or al fresco-style out on the elevated decking. When day turns to night, follow the stairs from the lounge to the first floor, where three splendid bedrooms await.
