About this cottage rental

Find true peace and tranquillity at this cosy romantic couples' escape, surrounded by rolling countryside on the fringes of Totnes and the South Devon National Landscape, perfect for a romantic couple's escape. This wonderfully scenic location within the South Devon countryside is a haven for keen outdoor explorers, with a myriad of walks beginning from the doorstep and a local pub less than 0.5 miles away. Jump back in time aboard a heritage steam train at the award-winning South Devon Railway, 7 miles away, to admire the breathtaking scenery along the stunning valley of the River Dart between Buckfastleigh (10 miles) and Totnes (3.5 miles). Explore one of the best-preserved examples of a Norman motte and bailey castle in the country at Totnes Castle (3 miles) and enjoy stunning views over Totnes at the top of your climb to the keep, or a peaceful picnic on the grounds under the shelter of ancient trees.

Walk through the private meadow and up the grassy hill to the top of the lane (approximately 100 metres), where you will find this stylish glamping retreat, featuring three separate areas. The first contains a full-sized shower and an adjacent sink area for washing up, as well as a chemical WC that is emptied for guests daily. Wander through the gated entrance to find the cooking and dining area, equipped with a dual gas hob and a cool box, ideal for storing and preparing your lovely local produce. Follow the warmth of the roaring wood burner into the traditional shepherd's hut, which offers a cosy lounge and sleeping space, furnished with comfy armchairs and a plush double bed. This hut is full of country cottage charm and homely touches everywhere you look, a truly relaxing escape after a busy day’s adventure.

Enjoy your countryside views with your morning coffee or stargaze under the clear dark skies with a chilled drink in hand from the idyllic decked area, which features outdoor dining furniture and a BBQ. Stretch your legs with a walk around the surrounding meadow, home to hens, goats, and two miniature donkeys. At the bottom of the hill, you will find private parking for two cars. Please note: there is no TV or Wi-Fi at this property.
