Port Isaac (13 miles), known for its charming cottages and Doc Martin fame, makes for a lovely afternoon wander. Boscastle (6 miles) and Tintagel (7.5 miles) are also close by, with Tintagel Castle bringing King Arthur’s legends to life for children and grown-ups alike. Bodmin Moor is 2.5 miles away and boasts miles of wild, open countryside for family hikes to Brown Willy and Rough Tor. For water sports, Tamar Lakes (20 miles) is a hit with families, with everything from paddleboarding and kayaking to safe spots for picnics and nature walks.
