About this cabin rental
With charming historic bones and tasteful contemporary and energy-efficient upgrades, this hidden gem (literally tucked away from the main streets, at the intersection of 2 alleys) is on a half-lot with a nice spacious yard. There’s a fully fenced back/side yard and a little unfenced front yard. With a cozy 900 interior square feet, the Casita Deluxe hosts a nice slice of downhome authentic modern western eclectic style.
Originally built in 1925, the digs have been updated with stone tile flooring, sound-proofing, double-paned windows, and insulating cellular shades.
The place is adorned with locally-made and handmade art. Some of it is for sale, and lots of the furniture has been locally sourced and/or refurbished.
Nearly all of the cleaning products used to keep the place fresh are purchased from pioneers of the non-toxic/earth-friendly yet very-effective cleaning product market.
This lovely rental also serves as a beloved part-time family home, and thus, pretty much every detail is regularly attended to. With a diverse background in agriculture, art, design, hospitality, and tourism, the hostess is stoked to help you enjoy a swell stay.
A good deal of the income made from the rental goes right back into supporting the largely wonderful local economy and other earth-friendly and ethically-driven endeavors. The Casita is a proud member of the Wild Livelihoods Business Coalition — we share common interest in protecting open spaces, clean air and water, rich soil and native plants, and vibrant wildlife populations for all.
~ important notes to consider ~
Please note, the Casita does not have an air-conditioner. This is the case with most family homes in town (the warm season here is generally short and not too hot), and most people weather the heat of the summer just fine here, but if you feel like you need a/c inside all summer, no shade, but this may not be a good spot for you.
The Casita has been pet-friendly for a while, and since it's staying that way, you can expect a bit of normal pet-friendly wear-and-tear — the place is kept super clean, but please note, there are a few cosmetic imperfections that come with loving and living with fur-baby friends, such as a few scratches on walls and stubborn stray hairs.
