A very nice little guesthouse in the middle of the old shopping district. Perfectly situated by a canal so the view from my window was extra nice and relaxing.
The rooms are traditional with sliding doors, tatami mats and futons to sleep on. A very relaxing room. The walls are thin so are you sensitive about noise when you sleep you should use earplugs (provided in the room). Bathroom, showers and a small kitchen area is shared by all guests but that is what you expect from a guesthouse.
The host is a very friendly and helpful man who gladly give you advice about things to do in the town and good places to eat. He speaks good English so no worries about communication.
The shopping district have the old wooden buildings and are very nice. You can easily walk around there and browse for hours or visiting the nearby Temple.
For those interested in craft beer and whisky there is a nice Distillery/brewery/restaurant not far away that have excellent food and you can also try out all their own products for a fair price.
I would gladly stay here next time I'm in the area. :)
